To get into the festive spirit this holiday we’ve made you a list of London’s top Christmas Markets to visit, and checked it twice!
Winter Wonderland Christmas Markets
When: 10am – 10pm from Thursday, November 21st 2019 to Sunday, January 5th 2020.
Where: Hyde Park, London, W2 2UH.
At the top of our list is probably the most well-known Christmas event in London… with a collection of stalls, Winter Wonderland is certainly the place to go for all your festive needs.
With more than 100 fairy-lit wooden chalets, you’ll be spoilt for choice with decorations, crafts, jewellery, accessories and Christmas treats! You can also get your skates on at the UK’s biggest outdoor ice rink.
Make sure you shop till you drop and when you do drop, stop for a hot chocolate or mulled wine to take the frosty edge off at one of the bars scattered all through the park.
Southbank Centre Winter Market
When: Friday, November 8th 2019 to Sunday, January 5th 2020.
Where: The Queen’s Walk, Lambeth, London.
Our only advice this Christmas is to eat, drink and be merry, especially at the Southbank Winter Market!
Traders from all over the world will be serving an array of handmade gifts and delicious street food, each bringing their own spin to the feast, from decorated wooden chalets.
Leicester Square Christmas Market
When: Sunday, 1st December 2019 to Tuesday, 24th December 2019.
Where: Leicester Square, Central London.
Experience festive fun with Christmas in Leicester Square. Browse the traditional market filled with crafts and tempting treats, afterwards, head to the Belgian Spiegeltent to enjoy a brilliant line-up of comedy, cabaret and burlesque shows.
Christmas by the River
When: Tuesday, November 26th 2019, to Sunday, January 5th 2020.
Where: London Bridge City, London.
Keep an eye out late November as a traditional Christmas market will be popping up along the River. The market will be located in the heart of London, surrounded by icons, including Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.
Lights will be twinkling as visitors peruse the stalls full of present ideas, stocking fillers and edible treats from the 60 independent traders.
Westfield London Christmas Market
When: Wednesday, November 20th 2019 to Tuesday, December 24th 2019.
Where: Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford, London.
Head to Europe’s biggest shopping centre and watch as the outdoor courtyard is transformed into a festive burrow in the lead up to Christmas.
In addition to being a one-stop-shop for all your Christmas present needs, this year the shopping centre hosts its inaugural Christmas Market. Find unique gifts from independent, British retailers at the outdoor stalls and take a pit-stop at the covered bar to admire the huge Christmas tree with a seasonal tipple.
Greenwich Christmas Market
When: all year round, with special Christmas décor during the holidays.
Where: Greenwich Market, Greenwich Peninsula, London.
Greenwich Market will be getting a festive makeover for the holidays, transforming over 150 stalls with Xmas lights and cheer. To make it even more magical, children can visit Santa Claus in his grotto from Wednesday, November 20th to Tuesday, December 24th.
The cost of the Grotto goes towards fundraising for the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice.
Ealing Christmas Market
When: Wednesday, November 25th 2019 to Tuesday, December 24th 2019.
Where: Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre, Ealing Broadway, West London.
This pop-up market has plenty to offer, nestled among the bustling shops, restaurants and bars. Traditional wooden chalets decorated to the nines will be popping up all around the shopping centre, bringing plenty of festive cheer to shoppers.
Kingston Christmas Market
When: Thursday, November 14th 2019 to Tuesday, December 31st 2019.
Where: Kingston Market Place, Kingston upon Thames, London.
Get ready for Kingston’s merry makeover as the town is transformed yearly into a delightful Christmas Market.
Visitors can revel in a range of festive treats from hand-crafted gits to a section of traditional Xmas treats like spiced mulled wine.
The cosy cabins will bring a Nordic feel to this South West corner of London. With a live entertainment stage, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows and a vintage carousal for the little ones, this could be the family day out you needed!
